| Length of Time: Six Minutes. Running Time.
Goals:
Continuation is a fastbreak drill where one team is trying to
score more points
and make less mistakes than the other team.
Skills:
- Communication
- Organization
- Decision making on the break
The Drill: Each team lines up at the baseline.
Team A starts with 1 player shooting a foul shot while the rest
of
Team A is at the opposite baseline. Team B has 2 players at the
block waiting to rebound Team A's free throw.
The rest of Team B is at that baseline. Team B rebounds the free
throw miss or make and goes down 2 on 1 and
than Team A brings in 2 players and goes the other way 3 on 2.
Then Team B brings in 2 players and they go 4 on 3.
Next Team A brings in 2 more players and they go 5 on 4. Finally
Team B brings in one player and they go 5 on 5.
They start over with Team B shooting the free throw and it continues
until the 6 minutes runs out.
Scoring: Teams get 1 point for any made basket
and -2 for a Turn-Over. If you turn the ball over when you have
numbers which is every possession but the last (5 on 5) than your
team gets -2. You keep track of the score for the
6 minutes. Losing team runs sprints.
